Film Screening - Out There: A National Parks Story

Mon, April 14, 2025 • 7:00pm - 9:00pm (2h) • Weitz Cinema

Out There: A National Parks Story is an award-winning feature documentary. The film follows two childhood friends taking a 10,000 mile road trip through the U.S. national parks, revealing a profound tapestry of stories from the people they meet along the way. The documentary is a heartfelt journey through the human stories, stewardship, and spirit of adventure that define America's natural wonders.

The film is the debut feature documentary from filmmaker Brendan Hall, having been crafted over the course of seven years. Brendan is the director, cinematographer, and editor of Out There alongside producer Anthony Blake, an educator who is now the assistant principal at Connecticut’s New Milford High School.

The film is also uplifted by an sweeping original music score by composer Elizabeth PW. She collaborated with musician Dylan McKinstry in writing and recording a profound soundtrack that includes a number of original folk songs crafted solely for the film.

Since Out There’s premiere at the Florida Film Festival, winning the festival’s audience choice, it has had a sweeping run at festivals across the country winning a number of awards. The film is now working with non-profits, universities, theaters, and other venues across the country who seek to create unforgettable experiences and connection to the natural world. To date, the film has headlined events at the Friends Alliance, Public Lands Alliance, Explorers Club, and Pixar Animation Studios.
