I started these works as an investigation of the way that trees reflect onto water and water reflects into trees. I wanted the water to feel like it seeps upwards into everything. The shorelines come from the Boundary Waters (a place full of water and trees and canoes). As I finished these works, I felt as though I had left this place and created my own world within the watercolor.
