When discussing the self, it always strikes me as odd that we talk about it in the same way we talk about an abstract concept. In any theoretical or philosophical discussion, there is a distance between everyone involved in the dialogue and the self. The discussion becomes an object, separate and ready for analysis, which is very strange because what it’s actually talking about is you. Or, more accurately, it’s me—but depending on who is talking, “you” and “me” can mean the exact same thing.

The short comic on display is the beginning of a story about the difference between those two things: me and you. It’s a story about someone who looks like me, but isn’t me. Someone who can’t get out of their own head, but can’t stop others from getting in, too. It is also sometimes a story about having spiders for eyes. Just remember: it’s not me, it’s you.
