Untitled (44.623731, -122.723401) generates varying frames of reference for viewing a landscape. Comprised of woodcut monoprints based on a singular image, each print forms the landscape differently based on a variety of aesthetic elements including mark, texture, opacity, composition, color, etc. I’m interested in complicating the notion of the landscape through the manipulation of the image.
This project toes the line between description and abstraction, creating a collection of memories in no linear narrative.
