This work is an interaction with the people around me. I am interested in portraying candid moments through portraiture and blending the line between truthful interpretation and symbolism. These works also function as an experiment with the materials of black ink and water.
In pushing the boundaries of this unassuming medium, I was involved in a constant tension between working within what was possible stylistically and staying true to these gestural representations of my friends.
