By casting various foods, displaying those casts alongside the real food item, and listing the ingredients the real food consists of, I hope to challenge the viewer to generate questions about what it is they are actually eating.

By transforming a processed food into metal, I remove all aspect of the food besides its shape. In contrasting a casted piece of food alongside the actual food itself, I hope to challenge the viewer to consider the peculiarity in the form of the food as well.

Additionally, the casted processed food pieces beg the question of which is more “real,” the metal cast or the actual food?
