My work is the product of many ruminations over the human figure. In a series of drawings — using the body and its absence — I searched for the palpable tension I see in the figure itself. All at once, these pieces are a representation of how the figure has influenced the realization of the self. They are a reflection of a personal struggle, but also confront viewers with how the figure impedes one’s own existence.
