My work in this show focuses on two very different elements of my practice, but are bound by a common theme.

My short experimental animation “32 FACTS ABOUT THE HUMAN BODY” utilizes a variety of animation techniques to present the viewer with a catalogue of facts about the human body. These facts range from the analytical to the somatic and look at the body as an experiencing sense organ which also holds memory and history. Using this, it looks at the residence of the Self, balancing ideas about the body as Self and as vessel.

The other piece I have on display, “Contemplative Objects”, allows the viewer to physically interact with the work with that somatic input being the foregrounded mode of experience. While other senses are at play, the objects act as places of a sensory output as well as memory holding things. The catalogue of participants lets the object grow beyond the touch with a history of those who have touched it already.
