There is a closeness about you
We exist as physical entities in a physical world, yet are driven by the thoughts and feelings that float within us. I am brought to wonder where it is that the physical self connects with the emotional self, and what this means in terms of our ability to connect with others.
I believe that we spend our lives attempting to bridge the disconnect between these two realms, whether that be through the emotional or physical bonds we create with other individuals. We strive to really know the foreign bodies before us, and rid ourselves of our own sense of separation. Yet, in the end, we are confined within the space of our own bodies.
It is this questioning that provides the inspiration for my work, which I have entitled “There is a closeness about you.”
