My work is an exploration of the relationship between two bodies occupying the same space at different moments. I investigated this passage of time by creating large-scale oil paintings, which describe the landscape of the body through thoughtful aesthetic and formal articulations.
I have chosen to paint the nude body because it is something familiar — everyone has a body and thus has an empathic relationship to the expression of the human figure. My paintings thus present a reflective depiction of the nude, where sensuality lies in the application of paint, and not in the figure’s naked body.
