In these pieces I explore nudity and the automatic associations it has with sexuality in Western culture. Although they are just parts of the body, nipples have become symbols for sex. And because sex is something for adults, children — especially girls — are taught that parts of their bodies are inappropriate. Genitals are also associated with sex, and seen as inappropriate for children to name or touch. This prevents children and young adults and adults from being comfortable or familiar with every part of their own bodies.

In these pieces I hope the viewers question their own assumptions and preconceptions of what is inappropriate about nudity.
