The work I’ve presented here explores the idea of wearable translations of emotional armor. The jewlry pieces I constrcted have armor-like physical aspects, and reflect the emotional defenses I perceived in the individuals I designed them for. By photographing those individuals wearing the pieces, as well as projecting the texture of the metal over them, I was able to create layered portraits of each person in an unfamiliar and surreal environment, one in which they’d be on their guard.
