Through painting, I seek to encourage human connections. Whether this be through establishing a relationship between the viewer and subject, the viewer and the others in the gallery space, or even the subjects of the paintings, I want my art to generate excitement in the simple and raw beauty of human contact. I hope to remind people of their own interactions where contact with another individual resulted in a moment of impact. This moment, where two pairs of eyes met, could be their first time, the last time, or a time that stood out amongst frequent interactions. For whatever reason, this fleeting glance impacted these two individuals for the long-term, and that, no matter how undefinable, makes life meaningful.
