The importance of identity has been explored in numerous works of art. My love for the people I have met at Carleton College, the pride I have in being a Chinese student, and my passion for photography all come together in this project.
I hope to use students who share similar ethnic backgrounds (i.e., South East Asia) as I do as a gateway to show that even though everyone is uniquely different, one’s love for the music, the arts, the environment, etc., is not all that different from someone else’s love for the same thing. The only thing that makes someone different from another should be his or her identity, and never his or her appearance.
