This Wednesday at 5 PM will be a talk by Babette Bohn in Boliou.
A professor at Texas Christian University, Bohn is a specialist in Italian Art, specifically Bolognese painting from the 16th and 17th centuries. Her talk is entitled, “Daughters of Eve: Masculine Virtue and Feminine Vice in Early Modern Women,” and she will be dining with the members of Alison Kettering’s ‘Women in Art’ class (ARTH 223) after the talk.
Here’s a quote from the art historian in an interview about her research; “ If I could contact living, breathing artists on my cellphone, I’m sure I’d miss the thrill of being a time-traveling detective.”
