Ross Elfline leads Alum Art Gallery Tour in Los Angeles
6 May 2019Associate Professor of Art History, led a Los Angeles art gallery tour for alums on April 27 as part of Carleton’s regional alumni clubs program. Whether joining for part or all of the day, 32 alums, family, friends, and parents of current students enjoyed the diversity of the galleries, Professor Elfline’s expertise, and captured a glimpse of the vibrant LA art scene within three very distinct neighborhoods: Culver City, Hollywood, and Downtown. Fred Hagstrom Talk at Bainbridge Museum of Art

The title of his presentation was “Deepening the Habit of Learning, Fostering Curiosity and Imagination for a Lifetime.”

Fred Hagstrom exhibits at Birmingham Museum of Art
21 August 2018Fred Hagstrom is part of the exhibit “Third Space: shifting conversations about contemporary art.” The Birmingham Museum of Art presents Third Space, the first large exhibition of contemporary art from the Museum’s own collection.Third Space features over 100 works of art in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video. The exhibition creates connections between the American South and other parts of the world using contemporary art.

26 June 2018Professor of Art, is exhibiting her visual work at Swan Vision Gallery in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin June 23 through July 28. “Photosynthesis at Maiden Rock” is a mixed media installation which explores the flora and fauna of Rice County, Minnesota.

Stephen Mohring Builds Set for Ten Thousand Things Theater Company
9 April 2018Steven Mohring designed the set for the next Ten Thousand Things Theater Company’s production of The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht. Public performances will be held May 3 through 6, 17 through 20 and 24 through 27 at St Paul’s ELCA, May 10 through 13 and May 31 through June 3 at the Open Book.
