Stephen Mohring Builds Set for Ten Thousand Things Theater Company
9 April 2018Steven Mohring designed the set for the next Ten Thousand Things Theater Company’s production of The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht. Public performances will be held May 3 through 6, 17 through 20 and 24 through 27 at St Paul’s ELCA, May 10 through 13 and May 31 through June 3 at the Open Book.

Alison Kettering publishes Winter Issue of JHNA
2 March 2018Alison M. Kettering, William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Art History, Emerita, and Heidi Eyestone, Curator of the Visual Resources Collection, announce the publication of the Winter 2018 issue of Journal of Historians of Netherlandish Art. Alison is Editor-in-Chief; Heidi is Managing Editor; and Noah Scheer ’18 and Joe Druckman ’19 are student assistants. The journal is celebrating its tenth year.

Juliana Shibata receives Minnesota State Arts Board Grant
22 January 2018Visiting Assistant Professor of Art, received a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Visual Arts grant to create three new installations that integrate living flowers with her ceramic ones. She will unite floriography, a language of flowers that has traditionally been rooted in the female experience, with her ceramic practice to produce works that combine specific cultural and historical themes in ways that widen Minnesota’s artistic heritage. MSAB funds will also allow Shibata to professionally document her work and approach exhibition venues in Minnesota about displaying her installations.
