Alison Kettering leads Seminar at Fogg Art Museum
29 October 2018Alison Kettering, William R. Kenan Jr., Professor of Art History Emerita, led a seminar on the theory and practice of 17th-century Dutch watercolored drawings at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, on October 19, 2018. The seminar consisted of a 30-minute overview followed by a discussion of Dutch watercolors among the faculty members, curators, donors, and grad students who participated.

David Lefkowitz and Stephen Mohring featured in Documentary
22 October 2018Stephen Mohring and David Lefkowitz, Professors of Art, are featured in Through the Windmill, a film about mini-golf that premiered at the Twin Cities Film Fest October 20. Their collaborative contribution to the Walker Art Center’s Artist Designed Mini-Golf Course, 18 Holes-in-One, is immortalized in this gripping documentary.

Fred Hagstrom delivers Carleton’s annual “Argument and Inquiry Seminar” convocation
26 September 2018Fred Hagstrom, the Carleton College Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art, presented the college’s annual “Argument & Inquiry Seminar” convocation on September 21. The title of his presentation was “Deepening the Habit of Learning, Fostering Curiosity and Imagination for a Lifetime.”

Fred Hagstrom exhibits at Birmingham Museum of Art
21 August 2018Fred Hagstrom is part of the exhibit “Third Space: shifting conversations about contemporary art.” The Birmingham Museum of Art presents Third Space, the first large exhibition of contemporary art from the Museum’s own collection.Third Space features over 100 works of art in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video. The exhibition creates connections between the American South and other parts of the world using contemporary art.

Linda Rossi exhibits at Swan Vision Gallery
26 June 2018Professor of Art, is exhibiting her visual work at Swan Vision Gallery in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin June 23 through July 28. “Photosynthesis at Maiden Rock” is a mixed media installation which explores the flora and fauna of Rice County, Minnesota.

Kelly Connole exhibits at American Swedish Institute
4 June 2018Associate Professor of Art, has two ceramics sculptures on exhibit at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis through July 15. The exhibition features five local artists in conjunction with The Fantastical Worlds of Kim Simmonson.
