Invasive Shrub Workshop

Saturday, October 22, 2011, 9:00 a.m.–noon
Carleton College — Cowling Arboretum
Northfield, Minnesota

This workshop was designed for landowners interested in improving wildlife habitat and reducing erosion and runoff. The workshop addressed why buckthorn, honeysuckle and other non-native invasive shrubs are a problem for our native forests and grasslands and what you can do about it. A range of control methods were discussed and demonstrated. This workshop was sponsored by the Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Carleton College Cowling Arboretum.
