You’re a Carl working for change in your community and at Carleton.
The Carleton College Alumni Relations Office assembled these resources, in conjunction with the Alumni Council, the student-run Black Student Alliance (BSA), the Carleton Student Association (CSA), the Multicultural Alumni Network (MCAN), and other alumni volunteers, to provide ways to support change. This is by no means an exhaustive list and will be continually updated.

Act now
Many Carls are passionate about social justice and racial equity, and we encourage you to support organizations and communities within and beyond Carleton by doing what you can from these suggested actions.
Offer Help on the Carleton Mutual Aid Network
Do you have a resource or skill you would like to share with those looking for help in the Carleton community? Maybe you can deliver groceries to Carls who live near you, provide temporary housing or shelter, want to set up a phone tree to check in on isolated Carls, or have another idea to help. Use this form to offer your help publicly.
If you are looking for assistance, please view the spreadsheet linked below with services fellow Carls are offering, and reach out to someone willing to help. If you have a need that isn’t reflected on the spreadsheet, you can request help, and Alumni Relations will try to connect you to a Carl with the relevant resources.
Actions recommended by current students
- From the Ujamaa Collective: In June 2020 board members of BSA, ACA, MOC, and SDAs of the Africana Studies departments joined efforts in advocating against racial injustice and demanding institutional accountability and change at Carleton. This coalition, previously known as the Black Student Organizations (BSO), compiled eleven immediate student demands that were submitted and presented to the College Leadership Team on June 4th. See the full list of demands.
