Carleton alumni are well known throughout the country for their commitment to giving back, both to their alma mater and to their communities. Through the Regional Carls program, the Office of Alumni Relations seeks to expand the opportunities for alumni to engage in volunteer activities.

Regional Carls throughout the country are encouraged to host a Day of Service. These events are a chance for alumni to get involved in helping out in their local communities. In recent years, alumni, parents, and current and prospective students have volunteered in a number of different ways — from helping at an area food shelf or cleaning animal enclosures at the local zoo, to volunteering to clean-up at local parks.

Do you have connections to a volunteer organization in your area, or are you interested in helping to plan a Day of Service for your area? Here’s how to get the planning started:

  1. Identify the volunteer opportunity in which you would like to participate, and work to find a few dates that would work to host the event.
  2. Get in touch with Alumni Relations to let us know of your interest, and to start working out the logistics.
  3. Once you have the date, time, and other details worked out, fill out the general event planning form. The Office of Alumni Relations will then get in touch with a draft event notice, along with any other information that may be needed.

Regional Carls are welcome to host these events any time throughout the year that works best for your local volunteer groups.
