Gigi Dekko Goldman ’81 graduated from Carleton College in 1981 in English literature and the U of MN Carlson School of Management with an MBA in marketing. After working in general management at both General Mills and Minnetonka Corp., Gigi launched her own SBA-backed company, Gianna International Inc., focused on providing home fashion products to leading US retailers including Macy’s, Nordstroms, Saks, and Lifetouch Portrait Studios. Her company was featured in Business Week, the New York TimesBon Appétit magazine, and leading gift industry publications. Selling her company after 15 years of growth, she focused her entrepreneurial, business-building skills on social businesses that address global challenges. With a focus on clean energy solutions, Gigi co-founded the We Share Solar Program in 2013. Partnering with corporations, utilities, and humanitarian organizations, We Share Solar brings solar energy and social entrepreneurship education to teachers and students across the world, encouraging them to become global citizens and change-makers.
