Kirsten Major '88, producer of Depression: The Musical and creator of Martin Luther Saves the World invites you to a staged read-through of a new musical-in-development, Co-op: The Musical.
When a debt-ridden grad buys her dream affordable apartment in New York City, she must survive a hurricane, homicidal neighbors, and a corrupt co-op board president to keep her home—or die trying.
Co-op: The Musical is a whirlwind dark comedy following Fleur, a recent grad with mountains of student debt who thinks she's found salvation in an affordable Manhattan apartment—until she discovers her quirky neighbors and the building's manipulative board president are hiding deadly secrets. When a hurricane hits on the night of a crucial vote that will determine the building's future, the formerly friendly shareholders start hunting each other down. Featuring show-stopping numbers like "You're in a Co-op Now!" and "Let's Kill Fleur," this hilarious and twisted tale of real estate obsession proves that in New York City, the most dangerous thing isn't the weather—it's the people desperate to keep a roof over their heads!
Cost: Free and open to the public but tickets are required.
