This talk introduces you to the science of positive emotions, with its surprising discoveries and evidence-backed insights and tools. Start off the new year by learning how small shifts in mindset and behavior can uplift your emotional quality of life and social connections.

Barbara Fredrickson ’86 is the Kenan Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and author of PositivityLove 2.0, and Positive Emotions. Among the most highly cited scientists worldwide, Barbara was honored in 2017 with the Tang Prize for Achievements in Psychology to recognize exceptional career contributions to the well-being of humanity.
