Lachelle Cunningham is a renowned chef and social advocate with nearly 15 years in the culinary industry. She began her career in 2012 with the launch of Chelles' Kitchen and became the founding Executive Chef of Breaking Bread Cafe in 2015, earning accolades for her innovative cuisine and commitment to social justice. In 2018, she founded the Healthy Roots Institute (HRI), focusing on food education, culinary training, and business support. Cunningham led The Good Acre's farm-to-school programs and introduced the VoCul culinary program in 2020, which later integrated into HRI, emphasizing scratch cooking and hands-on learning. In 2023, she became the Executive Director at Frogtown Farm, promoting community investment, sustainability, and empowerment in urban agriculture. Additionally, she acquired City Food Studio, offering a food-safe facility for culinary entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities.
