Convocation with Lis Frost '99

Fri, January 12, 2024 • 10:50am - 11:50am (1h) • Skinner Memorial Chapel.
Liz Frost '99 Headshot

Lis Frost ‘99 is a lawyer based in Washington, D.C., practicing in the areas of constitutional and election law, with a strong focus on protecting and defending voting rights. In the 2020 election cycle, Lis worked to safeguard voting rights for millions of Americans in the pandemic and managed a coordinated defense against the unprecedented attacks on democracy brought in courts across the country, in which the challengers baselessly sought to cast doubt on the outcome of the presidential election. Lis has also worked on several seminal redistricting cases that were heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2021, Lis and several of her colleagues formed the nation’s largest democracy-focused law firm, which has a mission of helping Democrats win elections, helping progressives make change, and protecting and promoting voting rights. Lis serves as the chair of litigation. She shares her experience fighting on the frontlines to protect and expand the right to vote and discusses threats to our democracy that continue to exist in 2024.

The presentation on Friday, Jan. 12th is titled “Fighting for Democracy in Court: The Rise of Election Litigation, and Some of the More Hidden Threats to Voting Rights”.

Convocation will be available for viewing via Zoom for those unable to attend. Please register in advance for the program. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the program. The entire ceremony will be recorded and archived on the Convocations website.
