Reproductive health care is a worldwide issue. Join Chris Purdy '88, the CEO of DKT International, and Elizabeth Master '17 for a conversation on the challenges and successes of promoting contraceptives, HIV/AIDS prevention, and family planning in more than 90 countries around the world.
About the speakers
Chris Purdy '88 is the Chairman of the Board of DKT International and also serves as president and CEO. From 1996 to 2011, he served as country director of DKT programs in Turkey, Ethiopia, and Indonesia. He is also the founder and CEO of carafem, which provides reproductive health services through clinics and telemedicine in the USA. He is the author of numerous articles on family planning, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship. After graduating from Carleton with a degree in sociology and anthropology and before obtaining a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Cornell University, he traveled around the world with his best friend for 12 months.
Elizabeth Master ’17 (née Smith) is the Head of Programs and Development at DKT International. Liz studied history at Carleton and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health in Global Health Epidemiology at George Washington University while working full-time at DKT. At DKT, Liz leads a team that provides programmatic oversight and conducts business development to support DKT’s global social marketing operations. During her time at DKT, she has traveled to Ghana, Kenya, and Senegal.
