“William A ‘Tony’ Blodgett, of Duluth, died on Monday Sept 27, 2004 at home after a two year battle with colon cancer. He was born July 2, 1947 in Chicago, Ill (day of the Roswell Incident) to Eileen and Bill Blodgett. He grew up in Glenview, Ill. He grew up in Glenview, Ill. Tony attended Carleton College and the University of MN Law School. Following his work at Social Security, Tony was an attorney for the City of Duluth for 15 years. He was an active member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church and taught sitar and appreciation of North Indian classical music at the Duss Music Conservatory. Tony loved literature, canoeing, music, the sitar, his friends, and family. His wisdom, kindness, and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Tony was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Susan Anderson, children, Britta and Jamie Blodgett, brother, Michael (Diane) of St Paul, Minn, brothers-in-law, Roger (Sharon) Anderson of Eden Prairie, Minn, Chuck (Lana) Anderson of Helena, Mont, sister-in-law, Karin (Dave) Benson of Gordon, Wis, mother-in-law, Grace Anderson of Edina, Minn, nine nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews, and his dog, Belle. MEMORIAL SERVICE 11 a.m. Friday, Oct 1, 2004 in St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1710 E Superior St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Paul’s Episcopal Church or the Ali Akbar College of Music, 215 West End Ave, Sun Rafael. CA 94901. Services entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.”

      Bill Blodgett was a musician, explorer and an original thinker at Carleton.  He was also a kind and humorous friend.
