We met Susan in our early days in NYC, as a neighbor on West 78th Street, when I spotted her husband Ken wearing a Carleton sweatshirt as he swept the leaves from the front of their brownstone. Susan and Ken were sparkplugs for the block, helping to organizing the planting of plane trees that are still there, and beautiful to behold. It was a sad day when they moved on to San Francisco.
