Sad news. Shan and his first wife, Jan, were married on the bridge between Goodhue and Myers dorms (symbolic of bringing them together in many ways).
Shan used his psychology training and his personal insight to try to help make companies more welcoming places for people to work - ALL people. He helped create a more inclusive world.

I played on the ice hockey team with Shan at Carleton. Neither of us was a superstar or anything close, but we enjoyed the game. He was always a pleasure to be around and a loyal friend. He also had a copy of "You say" on a reel to reel tape, which I am sure is a collector's item.

Shan was a good friend. Although we had not kept in touch over the years, many, many of my memories of Carleton are connected with him.

God speed to him now.
