Wonderful person. When our ACM group went to India (the first Carleton in India program) in 1969, she invited all of us to her house in Mumbai for lunch to welcome us to India and gave us lots of sage advice. When I returned to Mumbai on business in 2005, I looked her up. We were both a lot older (she must have been in her late 80s). She greeted me warmly and took me to the nearby Taj Mahal hotel for tea. Once there, she took me by the hand and waltzed me through the ornate lobby singing the Carleton alma mater!
