Nancy majored in economics and was the first woman at Carleton to be honored at graduation with distinction in economics. She joined General Electric in 1977 on their financial management training program. In 1980 she joined General Foods. While working full time at General Foods she attended the Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University, where she majored in Finance. In 1985, she graduated from New York University with an MBA with distinction and won the Dean’s award for achieving the second highest grade point average in a graduating class of more than 1,000 students. Nancy valued time with her family and took time off from work to be with her children, Jacob and Rebecca. As her children reached school age, she returned to work on a part time basis so that she could still be with them when they were not in school. While raising her children she worked as finance member of the mergers and acquisition group and eventually the strategic planning group at General Foods. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February of 1995. After taking a disability leave, she returned to work briefly, and then retired. Thereafter she spent her time in treatments and helping others, including being a facilitator at the Support Connection Inc, a Girl Scout troop leader, an active church member and PTA member. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Paul, and her two children, Jacob, 15, and Rebecca, 12.
