Mary and Ed were quiet leaders of the first large group of Black Carleton students. It had to have been hard to try to be groundbreakers at age 18, but hopefully it has lead the way for those of Minority coalition today.
Mary and I go all the way back to high school where we were great friends. While we followed different paths at Carleton, I have many fond memories and much respect for her. I am truly saddened by her passing and offer my sincere condolences to her family and close friends.
