Lawrence Grable entered Carleton with the Class of ’63 and graduated with the Class of ’65. Following graduation he received a master’s degree in American history from Washington University. He later received an honorary PhD in divinity. Larry was an accomplished cellist who played with the Webster University Orchestra and was past president of the St. Louis Orchid Society. He had taught philosophy at St. Louis Community College.
In 1989 he married Lavon Tanis and they moved to Horseshoe Bend AK. His love of the outdoors and kayaking then took them to Calico Rock AK. Larry and Lavon opened the White River Inn in Calico Rock in early 2003. He died August 4, 2003
