Laurance “Dode” Hull   by John Trucano, Carleton ‘72

Dode was my roommate for 2 years. He was my best friend for most of my time at Carleton. We played four years on the golf team together and intramural basketball for 4 years. He was from Wallace, Idaho and worked in the silver mines there. He married and divorced a woman from there and died in his sleep at age 55 from sleep apnea. 
He lived in the Twin Cities for a couple years after graduation before returning to Idaho to work in management at the silver mines. I saw him only a couple times between 1974 and his death in 2005, but he never changed. He was always funny, outgoing, and the life of any party. I will never forget Laurence “Dode” Hull. JT
