Jon K. Wilbur, age 52, of Edina. 30-Year employee of Thrivent (Lutheran Brotherhood), active coach, referee & player of soccer. Survived beloving wife, Nancy; children, Mark (Shawna Ehlers), Eric (Gail), Karl; parents, George & Mary Lou; brothers, James (Sandy), Tom; mother- in-law & father-in-law, Lucille & Calvin Smith; many other loving relatives and friends. Member Colonial Church of Edina.

Jon and I were roommates sophomore year. A physics major, he was both generous as well as patient in his help when I took my first physics course at Carleton. He was a natural as a soccer player, playing as a forward and scored more than his share of goals. Watching him from downfield while I played defense, I could only admire Jon's ability to pass and handle a ball. As a roommate and human being, he was one of the most considerate, kind, and thoughtful people I’ve ever known.
Jon and I played on the club hockey team together for 4 years. I think he played defense, usually paired with Jim Koehler. He was a very good hockey player on our coachless team. We had a lot of fun and an occasional win. We played our home games on the rink on the bald spot. He majored on math and went on to be a CPA. I agree with Todd, he was quiet, kind and thoughtful. A good man.
