Jon was a good friend who was consistently interesting, and made me laugh a lot. He spent most of his adult life in Japan, but also had sabbaticals in the US and England. I miss our conversations. He was survived by his wife and two children in Japan.
Just was my closest friend when he was doing his JYA in Lancaster, England.
I’ve only seen him a few times since that time over the following 35 years. I’m shocked he’s passed away, but it explains why he’s not answered my emails and calls for several years. John RIP, you were a great friend to me.
