Eric Joseph Lieberman, 67 of Galena, IL passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA. A celebration of Life will be held at 6 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may gather after 5 PM until time of service. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born in Chicago, IL to Esther (Kraus) and Archie Lieberman, the noted photojournalist. He graduated with a Law Degree from Loyola University in 1978 and practiced law in the Chicago area until 1996, when he became in-house counsel for the software firm, First Logic in La Crosse, WI. The firm was on the verge of bankruptcy, until Eric became President/COO. He is fondly remembered by the hundreds of First Logic employees whose jobs were saved and whose lives were improved by his ethics and style of management. Eric was a visionary and was working for the past year to help a crypto currency company navigate the legal system. He is survived by his mother Esther, his brother Robert, his wife, June Shellene, his step-son Taylor Schenone and his four granddaughters, Hailey, Amber, Leah and Raegen, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved dogs, Charlie and Shadow. Eric was preceded in death by his father, his son, Seth, a brother Kurt and three uncles. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dubuque Rescue Mission, Dubuque, IA.
