I did not know Ellen very well at Carleton, but we both ended up in St Louis, MO and enjoyed Carleton related events together. Her career was amazing and her persistence admirable. She was always giving to everyone.

I, too, did not know Ellen very well while we were students together. In 2021, about a month after one of our virtual reunions, we had a very long and lovely phone conversation together, and I regretted not having gotten to know her better. She was obviously committed to various good works, including social justice, racial justice, chaplaincy, death with dignity, and advocacy with the US government, including working through FCNL.
