My enduring image of Burt is seeing him on his speed (or was it hockey) skates, skimming around Lyman Lakes in winter, oblivious to the frigid weather. Well, when you're from International Falls, I guess that anything Northfield can throw at you is pretty tame stuff. Burt was calm, quiet, and studious, and I'm happy to know that he went on to become a physician. I've no doubt he was a very good and conscientious one.

I share the same memory recorded by Rich NcCord. Burt was out skating when the temperature was -20 degrees! Burt was quiet but a good soul. HE sped at Carleton only one term.
