Bruce came to Carleton from Portland OR. After graduation he continued his interest in Math obtaining a master’s degree. He spent two years in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone. He had a career in IT. After retiring, he taught English in China for three years.
He enjoyed playing the piano and did some composing; he also dabbled in photography. In the 50th Reunion bio book he reported the he had spent his life in a spiritual journey that begun with Bardwell Smith. Eventually he settled on Conversations with God by Neale Walsch as his primary spiritual source. He presented a seminar during the 5th reunion on his beliefs.
In addition to his other talents, Bruce played guitar and sang. He played a large role in the class sing along at our 50th reunion by putting together song sheets with chords and lyrics for songs that we sang together. He reported that three of his favorites were “Will the Circle be Unbroken?”, “Let it Be” and “Moon River”.
Bruce Died August 3, 2015.
