I only met Bart spring of '88. I would be down on the first floor of Myers, typing away at something in the wee hours of the morning, and we would end up talking about 'shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages, and kings'. He would go back to bed, and I would have made myself later. He was the sort of person one always remembers and wonders about, and I thank the people who made the "Rembering Barton Regehr" Facebook page a public one. I got to see a bit more into this wonderful person; I had tried to stay in touch, but it's hard to stay in touch with everybody you miss from Carleton. Thanks to his friends for such a wonderful burial (?) ceremony.
He was my uncle, my closest uncle. The last thing we talked about was was the galaxy and the planets. I remember trying to say a fact about the planets he didn't know but I had know luck. He was the best uncle ever, ever, EVER! I remember looking around at the adults at his memorial crying, I said I would be able to hold it in. But I failed, I lost it with them
