Dr. Anne Knecht Wilson died July 6, 2006 in Bloomsburg PA following a long illness.  She earned a degree in sociology from Carleton, a Master’s degree from the U of Maryland and a  PhD from Johns Hopkins University.  For twenty years she was a professor of sociology at Bloomsburg Univiersty.  Her primary subjects were Statistics and Family Studies.

However, Anne’s favorite subject to teach was Folk Dancing.  She served as dancer, dance instructor and artistic director for the Susquehanna International Folk Dancers.  The Dancers performed at many events.  Funds raised trough their performances supported victims of war and ethnic cleansing.

Her survivors included her husband and a daughter.
