Thomas Garner ’65

29 July 1993

Class: 1965

Major: Mathematics

Deceased: May 20, 1993

Alumni survivors: Mr. John B. Garner ’59 (Sibling)

Tom was my freshman year boyfriend, so, of course, I have very fond memories of him. I knew he was smart because he had graduated from New Trier Township High School, one of the best in the country. I remember him as a very nice guy who was also very bright. I lost touch with him after graduation, but know that he got his masters and PhD from the University of Rochester and taught mathematics for awhile at St. John Fisher College in Hartsdale, New York as well as at the University of Rochester. I was sad to learn that he died from multiple sclerosis at age 49 in 1993.
