“A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, in Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church in Portland for Charles Sloan Jr., who died Feb. 4 at age 59. Mr. Sloan Jr. was born May 3, 1947, in Portland, where he lived all his life. He graduated from Benson High School and the University of Oregon. He was a printer. Survivors include his sons, Teres K. Smith and Ahmad Sloan; mother, Vergie; sisters , Helen Sloan and Chantay Reid: brothers, Jeffrey Sloan and Damascus King; and three grandchildren. Arrangements by Cox & Cox.
