Robert Lawrence Romeiser was born on February 26, 1945 in St. Paul, MN and passed away on August 20, 2007 at his home in Spokane, WA after a battle with juvenile diabetes. He is survived by his daughter Caralee Palmer and husband Tim of Spokane, WA; his father Lawrence Romeiser of North Platte, NE; and his sister Jane Loiselle of Tuscon, AZ. He was raised in North Platte, NE, where he was class president of his high school class of 1963. After graduation he received his B.A. in Behavioral Science from Union College. He studied for his master’s degree in Non-Profit Management at the University of San Francisco. He was a counselor and supervisor for the Children’s Asthma Research Institute and Hospital in Denver, CO. Then he became a department supervisor, instructor for the Mental Retardation Commission Workshop, and became the program administrator for Shidoni, Inc., both of Colorado Springs, CO. After that he moved to San Jose, CA, where he became the program director, and later the executive director of Community Living Experiences, Inc., a non-profit residential treatment agency. He married Cathleen A. Montgomery from Evanston, IL in 1972 in the Black Forest of Colorado. She preceded him in death in 2002. He enjoyed watching sports, going to church, cooking, and especially being with his family.
