Charlene Gertz Lobitz died on July 11, 2012. She was a resident of Niles, IL. Loving mother of Margaret and James, grandmother of Jarrett and Jackson, and daughter of Charlotte and the late Carl Gertz.
Charlene retired after a long career as an English teacher at Maine South High School in Park Ridge, IL. Known as a voracious reader and a compassionate teacher, Charlene graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Carleton College and earned a Master’s Degree in Reading from Northeastern Illinois University.
