Randy Rainwater ’77

The Rev. Randy Rainwater passed away suddenly on November 5, 2012. Father Randy was born on March 2, 1955, in Tulare, California, to Alice and the late Harold Rainwater. He served in the Episcopal Church for ten years before his ordination in 1996 as a married Catholic priest, through the Pastoral Provision Process. While working at Camp San Joaquin, Father Randy met his wife of 26 years, Susie. They have six children: Kristina, Michelle, Jonathan, David, Mark, and Peter. In addition to his mother and immediate family, he is also survived by brothers Greg and Les and members of the Cunningham family. Father Randy was always eager to explore, learn, and lend a helping hand. He had a passion for designing and working on projects around the house and persevered through the most arduous of tasks. His long career in ministry also included his work at the California Youth Authority, a job for which he was clearly well suited as evidenced by the warm relationships he established with so many of the young people. His greatest joys came from spending time with his family, celebrating Mass, and sharing his faith.
