Rick was one of four Austin classmates (Millie Munro, Germaine Chipault, Susan Mattfeld) with me who continued together at CC. Rick was a terrific trumpet player who kept his membership in a drum and bugle corps even while he was at CC. He died in a car crash on tour the summer of our sophomore year. It was always fun to be with him–a life cut far too short.
