Obituary for Tim Wong MADISON – Tim Wong, age 68, of Madison, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, at UW-Hospital. He was born on Dec. 17, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Paul and Eunice (Elbert) Luebke. Tim graduated from Carleton College in 1969, with a degree in History. He worked for the State of Wisconsin as a policy analyst for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. Throughout his life he was an active member of numerous political advocacy groups. He was especially passionate about his opposition to war, his support of the environment, and bicycle transportation. His concerns about car pollution led him to the decision to use his bike as his primary mode of transportation, and throughout his life he did not own a car. He was an early supporter of increased bicycle convenience and safety in Madison, successfully campaigning to build more bike paths. Tim is survived by his father; sons. Shawn (Kristen) Drenning and Evan (Amy) Drenning; partner, Melanie Foxcroft; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother Paul T. Luebke. There will be a Celebration of Tim’s life held at the GOODMAN COMMUNITY CENTER, 149 Waubesa St., Madison, at 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 8, 2017.
